Carol of the Bells - Ukrainian historic drama screening & music concert

Carol of the Bells - Ukrainian historic drama screening & music concert

December 12th, 6pm The Enterprise Centre University of East Anglia Research Park, University Dr, Norwich NR4 7TJ

Come and share our evening of joy and grief - to commemorate the young victims of the WWII and in parallel, to talk about children, killed and kidnapped in ongoing war in Ukraine. As an overture to the film, you will enjoy the live music concert with the classic female vocalists Natalia Stepanova and Tatiana Belousova and a young pianist Andrii Stepanov performing Ukrainian music. The film with the symbolic title 'Shchedryk' ('Carol of the Bells') and an age restriction 16+ is telling us the story of a few families - Ukrainians, Poles and Jews, who had children of similar age when the WWII started. Children who were deprived of their parents by the punitive regimes of the USSR and the Third Reich found themselves on the verge of a clash of empires, at the dead end of occupation and the trap of the Second World War. Guest children under 16 can join the concert and then head into the next-door room with the children’s activities and an adult supervision provided. Parking spaces are available by the Enterprise Centre on a general basis.

The main event: Lecture Theatre 0.16, kids room - 0.01
